Refund and Cancellation Terms
Last updated: 10 July 2026
These terms apply to tours booked directly with Egholm Tours by email, telephone or through another booking system operated by us.
Where a tour has been booked through another provider, the applicable terms of that provider shall apply.
1. Cancellation by the customer
All bookings are binding. We do not provide a refund if the customer cancels the booking.
If the customer gives notice no later than one week before departure, Egholm Tours may, subject to availability, allow the booking to be transferred to another public tour. We cannot guarantee that a booking can be transferred. Requests submitted less than one week before departure may still be sent through our website.
If the customer does not arrive on time for the scheduled departure, this will be regarded as a cancellation by the customer. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
2. Special and private bookings
Different cancellation terms may apply to private tours, group bookings and special bookings. These terms will be stated in the quotation or booking confirmation.
Where no separate agreement has been made, the following terms apply:
- Cancellation no later than 14 days before departure: 100% refund.
- Cancellation between 3 and 7 days before departure: 50% refund.
- Cancellation less than 3 days before departure: no refund.
3. Cancellation by Egholm Tours
The captain always has the final authority to decide whether a tour can be carried out safely and responsibly.
Egholm Tours may cancel or change a tour due to circumstances including:
- adverse weather, wind, currents or tidal conditions
- technical problems
- safety-related circumstances
- instructions or restrictions imposed by public authorities
- illness or other unforeseen circumstances
If a tour is cancelled by Egholm Tours, the customer may choose between:
- transferring the booking to another available tour; or
- receiving a full refund of the amount paid to Egholm Tours.
Egholm Tours does not provide compensation or refunds for any other expenses incurred by the customer in connection with the tour.
4. Changes to the tour
Weather, wind and tidal conditions may change quickly. The captain may therefore change the departure time, route, duration or content of the tour if the captain considers this necessary.
Minor changes that do not significantly reduce the overall experience do not entitle the customer to a refund.
If the tour is significantly shortened or changed, Egholm Tours will assess in each individual case whether the customer should receive a partial refund.
5. Late arrival
Passengers must arrive at the agreed meeting point no later than 15 minutes before departure.
The boat cannot be expected to wait for passengers who arrive late. Late arrival or failure to attend does not entitle the customer to a refund.
6. Illness and personal circumstances
Illness, changes to travel plans, delays, cancelled flights or other personal circumstances do not automatically entitle the customer to a refund outside the standard cancellation periods.
7. Refunds
Refunds will normally be returned using the same payment method used for the booking.
Processing may take up to 15 banking days, depending on the bank and payment provider. Egholm Tours will only refund the amount received by Egholm Tours.
Any booking or administration fees charged by third-party booking platforms will be handled in accordance with the terms of the relevant provider.
8. Bookings through another provider
Where a tour has been booked through a travel agency, hotel or another booking platform, the cancellation and refund terms of that provider may apply.
In such cases, requests for changes, cancellations or refunds must normally be submitted directly to the provider through which the booking was made.
